I recently read an article (linked from HN) detailing someone's experience trying to get their site to carry Google Ads, and basically being instructed to turn it into a content farm, turning that person's nice site with organic content into garbage.

Google will only target content farms (for removal from its search, or ranking downgrade) that don't carry Google ads.
