It's interesting to see this migration starting to take hold.

For myself, I initially chose to be most active on Threads, but lately it's Bluesky that I've been gravitating towards.

Granted, I'm nowhere near as active on social media as I was a decade ago. However, Bluesky does feel like "old Twitter," per the article.

I didn't know Bluesky was popular. Aside from scientific community, what other "segments" actively use it?

The furry community got an early start, as it often does with these things, and has a significant presence.

The title is misleading:

> "The scientific community finds a new home on Bluesky"

Except from body:

> In July 2023, Adam Kucharski asked his Twitter followers: what platform do you think you will be spending the most time on a year from now?

> ...

> although academics mostly stuck with X in the year after the poll...

Did you... stop reading after the first paragraph or something? Or are you using AI-summarisation nonsense or similar? Like, this is a context-setting introduction.

(Sometimes, I wonder if HN should require people, before they are allowed comment on an article, to complete a short quiz, prepared by the article submitter, on the content of the article.)

Yes, the rest of the article is filled with gems like:

> tweaked the algorithm to amplify his own often false and conspiracy-filled tweets.

Which fittingly is a conspiracy itself.

That is not a conspiracy, it's basic knowledge widely covered in tech media:

The year after that poll would be around July 2024. We are in mid November now. Most of the growth BlueSky has seen is from recent months.
