Technically speaking, a good majority of SteamOS is just Arch with a bunch of FOSS software on top making Steam work its magic. There's nothing stopping someone from developing a copy that's open to much more hardware.

Though I do wish that they tested something like Fedora or Ubuntu as a benchmark.
