Hi all, I've been using sound effects in a few web-projects lately (mostly for notifications) and it's always a pain to find good sound effects and then handle them in the browser. So, I compiled my learnings into an easy-to-use React library. It currently has ~70 sound effects (MIT licensed) and I'm happy to add more if you have any requests.

PS. the sound effects can of course be used without the React library!

Alright, most people won’t want a significant portion of the web to go 'beep bop'. But the use cases listed on the website (notifications, game sounds) are valid, I think.

You waited for multiple years to post this comment? Something doesn't feel right here.

It's broken because it makes no sound on my computer. Oh sorry, it's because I have the sound disabled by default and Flash-websites who make sound have been annoying for more than 20 years.

Good luck on what you're doing though.

Yeah, it's annoying when websites make unwanted sound.

Agreed. What if it wasn’t an annoying sound, or a background sound?

Sorry, not trying to rain on your parade, but never in my life have I wanted a website to make sounds at me that weren't a video that I chose to click play on.

Everything doesn’t have to be for everyone.
