Gradient blur feels like it's directly following Apple, which isn't necessarily a problem, it's just odd that they're doing this right after Apple updated their design language with the colors and blur look. I suppose that's the be expected though.

I'd say Apple was copying Google, but it's more a case of all the designers copying whatever fad is trendy.
