▲How do you plan on handling the influx of garbage? I like the idea, but I’m inclined to think registration of event organizers would be necessary to control the spam.
reply▲Yea something like that would be necessary in the long run, or just use the event creation cookie user to moderate the rsvps. (or you can create private events)

[-] How does federated social already handle spam? just use that. I guess specific servers can ban.
reply▲Smoke Signal has a similar system on ATProto (no affiliation)
I believe this is the project that has the Rust code (on the GitHub of ATProto)

reply▲Ohh nice! I'll look into it.
reply▲There are several offensively titled events. No moderation whatsoever. This is likely 100% vibe coded in a day.
reply▲Ofc, don’t have to moderate every randomly submitted event, but I am planning to add a moderation page to delete or filter offensive events.
reply▲This is cool looking but you should note in the front page that it has ical, et al. calendar features.
reply▲Thanks for the feedback.

[-] This is super cool, going to try using this for an event this week and self-host a server if it works nicely, have been looking for a privacy-first version of Partiful for a while.
reply▲Needs the ability to have a waitlist.
reply▲Any plans to add the ability to have waiver/release forms for an event that need to be signed?
reply▲How does it compare to Mobilizon?
reply▲It's similar, but not that good as Mobilizon, Im focusing on simplicity with an improved UI and experience.
I'm assuming easier to spin up a new instance on your own, but this is my personal opinion.
reply▲Do you have plans for adding ActivityPub support in the future? That would be very cool, and having interop with these other FOSS projects will help give things network effects.
reply▲Mobilizon looks interesting but their docs results in a 404, which doesn't inspire confidence.
reply▲I quite like this, have just spun up a quick self hosted instance to play with.
I'm wondering though - after creating an event, how does one see the list of who has RSVPd to attend? I can't seem to find any way to see this info.
reply▲In the detailed page of the event, there is the rsvp list.
reply▲Please, consider a better name. It's really hard to promote something with a name that no one can pronounce or spell.
reply▲Very cool, is it possible to add voting for multiple dates too?
reply▲Right now nope, but I'm planning to add new features.
reply▲API, Please make an API?
I could integrate my RSVP system into it which requires more specific features but could use this to create the base for the event.
reply▲You need an API for creating events?
reply▲Yes, I would piggyback on to the base event which would be created, which would allow me to build out my extra features which need a base event.
API's are always a good thing, weather they are private or not.
reply▲Not the person who asked for it, but I think they were suggesting they'd use the API to retrieve information about RSVPs/current state of a planned event. (Perhaps even RSVP on someone else's behalf.)
reply▲What does federated mean
reply▲Any plan for supporting different timezones?
