I am drawn to Upton Sinclair's quote "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on his not understanding it"

Because very few incumbents with expenditure controls have a motivation to alter the trajectory of US military capital investment.

I do not like this articles use of "it is certain" regarding a drone attack inside continental USA. It's certainly a risk. Not much else is certain.

In wartime, drones shouldn't be a concern at all. They are a thing in Russo-Ukrainian war only because neither side has a viable air force. Theatre isolation facilitated by air superiority on either side makes a conflict like that much quicker and much less bloody.

In peacetime, for low-level harassment/asymmetric threats, sure it's a thing and it needs to be countered.
