Ask HN: How do I grab the subtitles from the Artemis 2 livestream?

I've been trying to make a super simple tracker for Artemis 2 the last few nights, after I noticed that the NASA livestream has very high quality, human-trabscribed subtitles. My goal is to build a simple html page, with nothing but the live-updated transcript of all communications between mission control and Orion.

I've seen a lot of tracker apps, but they're a bit too much for what I'm looking for.

Unfortunately YouTube makes grabbing the subtitles from my VPS nearly impossible because of their anti-botting procedures.

I don't want to be a bad actor, and I would totally go somewhere else, like an official NASA stream for these subtitles, but NASA has explicitly said that YouTube is the only place they will host the 24 hour livestream.

I'm a little bit lost, and I'd really appreciate any advice.

Would love to give this stream to my claw and get a daily update of what the crew is talking about. Please share a repo if someone pulls a quick solution together.

I definitely will, and ideally it'll just a be a plain htmx + html page, so you'd probably have a pretty easy time scraping whatever page I end up putting together as well. I could totally set up an API so we're not DDOSing whatever endpoint those subtitles might be available under
