This attachment to roles, titles and YoE needs to stop and it is a performative act of pleasing managers and execs that will still lay you off.
It doesn't matter how long you stay at the company, it does not matter what you know, as long as you don't own it, these companies will see many employees as a 6-figure yearly cost x20 or x100, see that amount they are spending on them, forecast costs in the next fiscal year and then they decide to the lay you off.

This is why Cursor is going to $0, because they are still stuck in the model of paying for seats (humans) and layoffs will reduce the number of seats needed at these companies.
Once that layoff happens, paying $200 a month for a coding agent then turns into a question to the user:
"What am even I building?"
The logical answer is that you continue your coding agents on local models, for free.
