Having bought the IKEA Grillplats smart plug it can monitor electricity usage, which is supported by the Matter protocol, but not yet in Apple Home.

There’s the 1.3, and 1.4 protocol.

So I’m guessing Apple are looking to deploy the 1.4 protocol soon.

And I’ll have to look up the 1.5 protocol.
