I am always fascinated to see how well these kinds of interventions stick. For instance, going dumb phone feels like a solution but when you hit that inevitable wall, the whole narrative of that solution falls apart.

I have found that one of the best things folks should do is look at the original presentation of the iPhone. You have the phone, your messages, maps, music and a web browser if you really need to reach out for something beyond that. It had clear intention, it wasn't made to addict people, it was made to help people do things faster and than move on with your day.

I'm not saying return to that entirely but if you can bring that attitude to the smart phone. It is a device that helps you, not entertain you endlessly.
