I launched anitroves.com a few months ago and had added many wiki pages for Anime series and movies. At first we got around 20kexpression in under 2 weeks and most of our pages were indexed which was very likely google testing my website.

After a month google started deindexing my website and due to our one tiny mistake this action got its pace and almost whole site was deindexed then we fixed our that mistake and also removed every wiki page now we have only a few hundred of pages.

Its been more than a month since we removed every wiki and other possible thin pages yet google search console shows around 24000 discovered pages and keeps showing some urls which doesn't even exist as indexed we submitted Validate fix options but it looks like it is of no use and we don't have any manual penalty or issue shown in search console.

We are now recreating every single page on our website though on frontend it shows same old pages but on backend we are cooking something and will launch it at once but we want to recover from this problem or penalty or whatever it is before that.

You can access my website from google as if I write link here hackernews will most likely hide this post from public.

Can someone explain what this is and how to recover from this professionally

It takes a while to recover. You'll probably need to wait until the next core algorithm update. They usually do 4/year. They just did one last month.
